World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

upgrade item components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the item to the upgrade items (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can use up many resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and giving players the ability to alter their gear.
